Description

As Long As It’s Fun: The Epic Voyages and Extraordinary Times of Lin and Larry Pardey covers two hundred thousand miles of cruising life under sail.  In that time Lin and Larry Pardey have demonstrated that the dream of voyaging over the horizon is not only attainable, it’s also affordable. Through interviews with Lin and Larry’s families, friends and critics, Herb McCormick delves into the couples often-controversial opinions, sometimes-tenuous marriage, and amazing accomplishments.  As Long As It’s Fun is as much a love story as it is a sea yarn, making it not only a sailing saga but also a very human one.

“This is in fact the rarest of tales, a story as fabulous as the Arabian Nights, as Stanley in Africa, and any exploration of the Right Stuff in Space.  This is a lifew story to set alongside Slocum, Scott, Amundsen, Lindbergh, or Odysseus.” – Peter Nichols, author of A Voyage of Madmen

“This biography of one of cruising’s great couples is destined to become a classic” – John Kretschmer, author of Sailing a Serious Ocean

“Her McCormick navigates the Pardey’s sprawling journey like one of their cutters skimming along the surface of a calm sea.” Tim Layden, Senior Writer, Sports Illustrated
