While shopping at Coco Chanel’s, Caroline saves the granddaughter of a notorious gangster from an attempted kidnapping. The grateful granddaughter teams up with Caroline to bring rival gangsters to justice. By this time, Caroline knows too much about the operations of the Paris underworld for her own good.  The godfather of a decimated Paris gang wants to extract information. He has Caroline kidnapped. Caroline escapes into the French wine country near Mâcon, where she samples the finest wines and battles her pursuers.

About the Author

Frank L. Gertcher is a retired senior scientist and a current writer of murder-mysteries. Born in Clinton, Indiana, he and his father fished and trapped on the Wabash River for a major portion of our family income for many years. His teenage years were spent on a farm in Sullivan County. As an adult, his degrees include a BS in Electrical Engineering, an MS in Engineering Management, an MBA and a PhD in Economics. He served 23 years in the U.S. Air Force. He had another 22-year career, building weapon systems for the Department of Defense. His publications include eight books and a number of papers in scientific journals. I traveled to and lived in many places around the world, but he is still a Hoosier at heart. His wife Linda and he now live in the lovely Shell Point Retirement Community near Fort Myers, Florida. –This text refers to the hardcover edition.
