Praise for Last 9 Seconds

“I have a lot of soccer books and I would easily put this one in the top five. Maybe even the top 3!” Michael D. Hunter, Elite Sport Goalkeeping

“John DeBenedictis has created a powerful tool, which no doubt will benefit and inspire many coaches and players.” ~ Alfons Rubbens, (publisher, Inside Soccer Magazine)

“This book is the Best.  Thank you Coach John” ~  Amir Bazgir

I have a copy, and use it to teach my players” ~ Mark Steinlein

“Boy have I been scoring goals! In the regular season for my high school, I ended with 4 goals (I missed 3 games so I probably could’ve scored more). We’ve played 2 play-off games so far, and I’ve scored in both of them — I got the game winner in the last one yesterday 1-0! I’m gonna be honest here, most days at soccer practice (especially when we do shooting drills) I think about your course and how much it benefitted me. It’s funny how right after the course, I was thinking the same stuff — I just didn’t think that over a year later I would be having the same thoughts over and over again about how grateful I am that I had the opportunity to learn amazing goal scoring secrets. Thank you for helping me improve my game.” ~ Nico Lindsay

“I am a high school coach just outside of Chicago, Illinois at Benet Academy in Lisle.   I just wanted to drop a note and say I really enjoyed your seminar this past weekend. It was the most thought provoking session I attended and can’t wait to read the book. ( I bought one ) I appreciated your passion, commitment to the game and player development.   Good luck to you.” ~ Sean Wesley, Benet Academy, Men’s Varsity Soccer Head Coach

“I got the book on Friday and I’m already at page 110! I thought you’d like to hear that I believe it is great. I did not read the entire book, but I have had a look at its organization and the content of the part I read and it is fantastic!  I used the relaxation you had in the book to keep her calm before today’s session. Today she was much better, and when she came back from the practice she was calm, collected. She looked like a different person!!! So, thank you and I’m looking forward to finishing the book.” ~ Giovanni Carboni (Hamilton, Ont.)

“Within a few pages of reading this book you will come to the conclusion that John DeBenedictis is an incredible student of the game of soccer. His writings give a new perspective on the game – particularly in relation to the art and science of scoring goals. Years ago I learned much of my goalkeeping from an old friend, Verdi Godwin, who in his playing days was an old-fashioned English centre forward.  He looked at goalkeepers from the other side of the bargaining table. He knew what goalkeepers didn’t like and hence, he would attempt to take advantage of that. He also knew what he didn’t like to see in an opposing goalkeeper. For instance, one that came out, narrowed the angle, stayed big and didn’t anticipate. “In the book John talks about the Jekyll and Hyde personality duels between attackers and their opponents – and in particular, the striker and opposing goalkeeper. So this book is for every coach and every player. It may concentrate on the last 9 seconds before a goal is scored, but that is the focus of each player no matter what their position – as it is with every team and every coach.” ~ Tony Waiters, Former goalkeeper with the England National team, Former Coach of England’s National youth team, Former coach of the Vancouver Whitecaps in the NASL, Former coach of Canada’s National Men’s team, Author, Respected clinician and coaching instructor around the world
